People like to make the joke that Jordan is between “Iraq and a hard place”—not all that funny. But Jordan is a pro-American country squished between a lot of U.S. State Department travel warnings: Israel and the Palestinian Territories, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and, of course, Iraq.
