Students for Justice in Palestine, the Muslim Students Association, Student Worker Solidarity, the International Socialist Organization, and Students Against Mass Incarceration gathered on Low Plaza on Thursday to speak out against Barnard administrators’ decision to remove SJP’s banner from Barnard Hall.

Abdullah, who has played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, and Arizona Cardinals, discussed how his religion affected his career as a football player.
Nearly 50 students participated in Columbia’s third Interfaith Service Hop this weekend, attending services outside of their religion across campus and the city.
Columbia's global focus comes at the cost of ignoring its immediate surroundings.
“This is something that is deeply disturbing,” Bollinger said. “We live in a world where we think the role of the state is not to watch us, to follow us, to monitor us, unless there is some predicate for investigating criminal activity.”
University President Lee Bollinger will host a fireside chat this evening to discuss NYPD monitoring of Muslim students at Columbia.
