Residents of the pioneering multi-use Cathedral Gardens condominiums are hoping to soon wrap up a four-year legal battle with developer Artimus Construction over facilities and structural problems that they say have been ongoing since they moved in.
Community Board 10 voted to approve a rezoning plan Wednesday that would allow Artimus Construction to turn a historic church into apartments and a community art space.
While some residents believe that the development on the site of a former BP gas station, which closed in 2012, will benefit the area, others felt that they were not properly consulted about their views on the project before a developer was chosen.
