The No. 24 men’s tennis team is spending its spring break on the road, traveling first to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on No. 41 Michigan on Saturday.
The match will be the first of five straight on the road for the team, which will head to Texas following its matchup with the Wolverines before kicking off league play in Ithaca at the end of the month.
The Light Blue has been inconsistent in doubles play this year, and may have its hands full with Michigan’s formidable doubles teams. The No. 22 duo of Barrett Franks and Alex Buzzi leads the way, with undefeated teammates Shaun Bernstein and Kevin Wong sitting at No. 52.
Columbia’s singles players have been dominant lately, with No. 14 junior Winston Lin, who remains unbeaten, setting the pace—and despite being on the road, the Lions should feel comfortable on Michigan’s indoor courts. This will be the Light Blue’s last indoor match before heading to Texas, where the Lions will try their luck playing outdoors for the first time this season.
Play begins at 11 a.m. at Michigan’s Varsity Tennis Center.
