The Lions (1-2, 0-2 Ivy) fell to Cornell (3-1, 1-1 Ivy) this weekend, 13-6. The Big Red struck first, when attacker Amanda D'Amico scored just 22 seconds into the contest. Three minutes later, the Light Blue knotted it up after a free position goal from junior midfielder Katie Angulo. But Columbia's defense collapsed, and Cornell rattled off seven goals straight, cruising to a decisive victory.
Columbia sophomore attacker Kate Murphy put in a strong effort, tallying three goals and one assist. Big Red attacker Lindsay Toppe led all scorers with seven points off of three goals and one assist.
The Lions continue their road stretch next week, as they head to California to take on USC.
