After winning season opener, squash opens 5-game road trip at Cornell

  • Hit the Road | Both the men and women’s squads topped GW at home to start the season and will face Cornell on Saturday.

No. 11 men’s squash (1-0, 0-0 Ivy) will enter Ivy League play on Saturday, facing No. 8 Cornell in the first of five consecutive road matches. The men’s squad opened its season with a resounding 9-0 victory over No. 29 George Washington at home. 

The Big Red men’s squad (2-0, 0-0 Ivy) topped No. 21 Drexel, 5-4, in its team’s season opener on the road, before pounding No. 9 Western Ontario, 6-3, in its home opener. 

On the women’s side, Columbia’s No. 11 women’s squad (1-0, 0-0 Ivy) will also open Ivy League play by facing No. 6 Cornell on the road on Saturday.

Like the men’s team, the Light Blue women’s team beat No. 14 GW, 7-2, to open the season at home. 

Cornell’s women’s squad has opened the season with a couple of stellar performances, dominating No. 19 Drexel, 9-0, before beating No. 7 Stanford, 7-2.

Both squads will open play at 11 a.m. in Ithaca, N.Y.
