Jared Hecht, CC '09, is CEO and co-founder of GroupMe. He is 25 years old. Jared started the company only a few years after graduating and sold it to Skype for more than $50 million. "If right now I told my 20-year-old self that, I would have been stoked." He would have been pretty surprised, too. His 20-year-old self was planning to go down a more traditional path: consulting, banking, maybe Teach for America. Thanks to a surprise job offer from Tumblr, which at the time only had eight full-time employees, he found himself in the world of startups.
