Courtland Thomas, CC ’16, is the renaissance man of campus journalism. Whether he is taking photos for Spectator and Halcyon, writing for Inside New York among other publications, or starting the new online magazine 292, Courtland does it all in style. With his eye for fashion and media, he is slowly but surely adding a little edge to everyday life on Columbia’s campus.
Katie Best-Richmond: How would you describe your personal style?
Courtland Thomas: I knew this was going to come up! Someone told me I dress like a combination of Manhattan and Brooklyn. I really like that. I like the sophistication of a nice blazer and then a simple t-shirt and skinny jeans. I like combining a sense of classiness with edginess.
KBR: What are your favorite pieces to wear?
CT: This tweed blazer. I also have a collection of red shoes that I will pull out in the spring. Red is my favorite color. I have a pair of Ralph Lauren shoes, a pair of women’s shoes from a thrift store I picked up—just anything red. I love red.
