In an email to the Columbia community, University President Lee Bollinger announced that he has appointed Steve Coll, former president of the New America Foundation and the recipient of two Pulitzer prizes, as Dean of the Journalism School effective July 1, 2013.
Last October, Nicholas Lemann announced that he would step down from his position as dean of the J-School at the end of the academic year after holding the post for 10 years.
