Yesterday evening, tens of thousands of hopeful high school hearts were crushed by the delivery of rejection and waitlist e-mails---somewhere in the ballpark of 31,200 to be more specific. This year, 2,311 students were granted admission out 33,531 applicants for an acceptance rate of 6.89% for SEAS and CC combined.
33,531. That is an awful lot of people.
