Day 4 recap: Juniors finish picking...with a few surprises

Well, here we are -- we're more than halfway done with in-person group selection, with only sophomores and some mixed-point groups left to pick.

Today there were some interesting surprises -- particularly during regroup -- with some good and bad news for those picking tomorrow and Wednesday, depending on what you're aiming for.

You should be optimistic if you are a mixed-point (or even 10-point!) group of 7, as we count nine remaining Claremont 7's. If no groups of 7 drop, we're looking at, worst-case scenario, a cutoff of 10/983, much later than we expected. Though since all these groups probably formed in hope of a Claremont 7, it's most likely the cutoff will be exactly that. This would leave a maximum of six 10-point, 7-person groups out in the cold of online selection.
