For months, I’ve tried to avoid the freshman 15. At first, I didn’t really pay attention to my weight, thinking a dessert after every meal wasn’t that big of a deal. And then my jeans started to feel tight.
So before going home for winter break, I started obsessively working out in Dodge, becoming one of “those people” who would pounce on the treadmill as soon as my half hour began. When Dodge wasn’t doing it for me, I tried exercise fads from Vinyasa yoga to Zumba in the hope that they would keep me in shape.
