It's really easy for me to disregard the fact that Kathryn Bigelow, today's newest Oscar-winning director, graduated from Columbia. I say this for two main reasons. One, I think it makes me sound cool. And two, Columbia is one of those interesting universities where two random students usually have had more differences than similarities in their Columbia experiences.
