While helping the Columbia women's basketball team set program records of 18 overall wins and nine Ivy League wins this season, junior forward Judie Lomax did some history-making of her own. The Ivy League announced today that Lomax is the 2009-10 Player of the Year, making her the first Columbia player to receive the honor.
Lomax made her mark all over the floor this year, finishing with averages of 18.6 points per game, 2.7 assists per game, 2.6 steals per game, and a nation-best 14.2 rebounds per game. If Lomax maintains her position as the country's top rebounder this season, she will become the first NCAA Division I women's basketball player to achieve the milestone in two consecutive campaigns.
