The No. 12 seed Cornell Big Red defeated the No. 5 seed Temple Owls in the first round of the NCAA championships. Behind 21 points from senior guard Louis Dale and 20 points from senior forward Tyler Durden Ryan Wittman, the Big Red defeated the Owls 78-65, making Cornell the first Ivy League squad to win an NCAA tournament game since Princeton defeated UNLV in 1998.
