Today is the Iranian New Year, and regardless of ethnicity, we all have reason to be happy. It's the vernal equinox! The days are getting longer! It's spring! The weather is fantastic! What more can we ask for? (Perhaps another week of spring break, but I mean besides that, of course.)
Celebrating the New Year in a college setting is always a bit weird. The Iranian New Year is supposed to be a quintessentially Iranian festival, which means that it involves two things for me. But neither of those is particularly plentiful at college.
