According to ehow.com, the eggplant is not a vegetable—it’s a berry! This, I think, is totally absurd. But the eggplant (and more importantly, cooking it) has always mystified me. I bought a cool mini-eggplant at Westside last week, so I’m going to try roasting it with dinner.
