NY Post skims Columbia Spectator, overestimates importance of frats

The New York Post reads Spectator. Or skims it, at least. Over the weekend, the Post published an article that equated the Columbia social scene to that of a state school, claiming that frats and sororities make up 30 percent of Columbia social life. There were limiting typecasts (ex: DG = "The Queen Bees"), played-out Animal House references, and intellectualized puns (Columbia's Greek 'Rho'). While many of us here on campus were scratching our heads and thinking, "Really? Greek life is THAT big here? Hm. Guess I was wrong," New York Magazine was investigating. Turns out the Post needs a new fact checker.
