Columbia’s admissions office recently announced that the class of 2015 will apply through the Common Application. This change, officials explained, will give every potential Columbia applicant—regardless of background or familiarity with and understanding of the college admissions process—an equal opportunity to submit his or her name to the pool of potentials.
