For this week's installment of "The Next Vampire Weekend," Spectrum met up with Sssen (pronounced "sen") for cigarettes in front of Nussbaum to talk about technology, deviance, and anime.
The duo, who first performed together on piano and viola during their days at Regis High School, now straddle the Columbia-NYU divide and mix '80s and '90s music on a Macbook in a deliberate mash-up of outdated technology with "shiny new interfaces." They recently brought their dark electronic sounds to Wesleyan University, where they opened for (and chilled with) dream-pop duo Beach House.
