It's Respect for the Aged Day in Japan today. According to this informative website, "Since the introduction of the Happy Monday System in 2003, which moved a number of national holidays to Mondays creating long weekends, Keiro no Hi [Respect for the Aged Day] was celebrated on the third Monday of September."
In short, this means that I don't have school today in my study abroad program, thanks to the national Happy Monday System. Really.
So what else is there to do on this Happy Monday than reminisce about Columbia? (Well, that, or go to Kinkakuji.)
