This morning students may have noticed Broadway's newest staple—the Joyride truck—has parked in front of Lerner and is serving up yogurt and coffee to passersby. A departure from the usual cutesy trinket-obsessed motif of the tart fro-yo craze, Joyride's claim to fame is caffeinated frozen yogurt called "Buzzed." Though it doesn't taste any different than the original tart, a small Buzzed yogurt has the effect of 3/4 cup of coffee. But the novelty of eating, rather than drinking, your morning caffeine fix is all Joyride has to offer. The yogurt doesn't maintain a smooth and natural freshness, rather it starts melting almost immediately after being served, and has a questionably chemical aftertaste. Meanwhile, the standard topping line up of cereals, fruits and granola fails to bring an adequate accompaniment: blueberries and raspberries, though acceptable, are far from fresh and granola tastes generic, bland, and not crunchy.
