Postcrypt 'reborn' as alcohol-free, but still fun-filled

Postcrypt Coffeehouse, the 45-year-old student-run music venue in St. Paul's basement, may have had to stop serving beer, but it is still serving great performances, a mellow atmosphere, and good times.

Leah Greenbaum at the News desk reports on how this newly non-alcoholic Postcrypt came to be and how circumstances have changed the beloved Columbia group. After the administration raised concerns about underage drinking, Postcrypt was asked to hire a public safety officer and two alcohol proctors, which would have bankrupted the group. Rather than close up shop entirely, the group sacrificed the free alcohol.
