Sometime around 4 a.m. Friday morning, the small but vocal pro-Lil Wayne faction finally wins out at WKCR’s Rappcats Radio.
“Shouts to Weezy, released from prison today,” says Willie Avendano, the show’s principal DJ, eliciting cries of “Send him back!” from many of the interns gathered in the studio. “We’re going to play one quick joint, I’m going to shoot myself, and then we’ll get back to the real music.”
