Merritt Fox is the Michael E. Patterson professor of law, in addition to the NASDAQ professor of the Columbia Law School-Columbia Business School joint project on the law and economics of capital markets. He has served as chair of the business associations section of the American Association of Law Schools, and is currently a codirector of corporate governance research at the University of Michigan Business School. With a Ph.D. in economics and a J.D. from Yale, Fox focuses on the relationships between law and finance and their implications for college students in particular.
