Three thoughts on men's basketball after last night's loss

Last night’s loss at St. John’s was my first chance to see the Lions in person this year, and the second time this season they’ve had an opportunity to test their mettle against a team from a better conference. Even though the Lions lost, people should be encouraged by last night’s result. The Light Blue led at the half and remained tied well into the second period. A win would have been monumental. Then again, this was a young Ivy League team against an experienced, if second-tier, Big East foe. The Lions led at the half even though Noruwa Agho had as many points as turnovers – four. They seemed unfazed by the moment, by the opponent and everything else. With that said, here are three things I took away from it (and in keeping with the positivity, only one of them is discouraging).
