In today’s paper, Lucas Shaw wrote a column criticizing the BCS system for determining a college football champion by selecting the top two teams based merely on their regular season. Imagine if the BCS system was applied to the NFL—16 bowl games for all 32 teams to play in. Who would be in the Super Bowl? Pats vs. Falcons? Would the Steelers and Ravens be left out because they play such a weak divisional schedule? Would the 9-2 Jets simply be S.O.L.?
