The News desk's Melanie Broder reports from tonight's ESC meeting.
At tonight's meeting, SEAS Dean Feniosky Peña-Mora made a rare showing, appearing for half an hour.
Peña-Mora expressed interest in revising the SEAS curriculum. In particular, he said he hopes to streamline the transition from the school's bachelor's program to its master's program, stating that he wants all SEAS departments to offer 4-1 programs. Peña-Mora also mentioned his desire for "express admissions" within the SEAS bachelor's and master's programs, which would make the process for Columbia engineering students applying to a SEAS graduate school easier. He specifically mentioned the possibility of not requiring such students to take the GRE.
"In engineering today, an undergraduate degree is not enough," he said.
