Islamophobia advanced mightily as a popular trend in 2010, and I see no reason to think that the trend will not continue. From the controversy over building a mosque in lower Manhattan to news hiccups about Quran burning in Florida and voter rejection of shari’a law in Oklahoma, it seems clear that the war on militant Islam that began with the Bush administration is turning into a comprehensive hate campaign aimed at the Muslim religion as a whole.
