This week we are featuring a series of student opinions on last week's drug bust.
I know people who were woken up and shaken by the battering rams. One friend told me he was terrified at the thought of police busting into his dorm without warning. On a wider level, many of us on campus knew, if not knew of, any and all of the five, and many of us are devastated. This drug bust did not exist in a vacuum: We as a community were affected, and we continue to be affected.
Indeed, as Amin Ghadimi wrote, there are a lot of private opinions on the busts and a lot of related and touchy issues, but there have been no safe spaces on campus for students to talk about their reactions to the drug busts, little to no public student opinion on the topic, and little community building around what we are all experiencing.
