Chip Kelly, the head coach of the No. 2 ranked Oregon Ducks, was named the AP Coach of the Year on Tuesday. He received 24 out of 50 possible votes, and edged Gene Chizik, head coach of No. 1 ranked Auburn and his coaching opponent in the National Championship game in a couple weeks. But why should Columbia care about the second-year coach in the Pacific Northwest?
