As we usher in a new year, we decided to make a Top 10 list of freshmen who didn’t have the chance to make much of an impact for Columbia in 2010, but are expected to burst onto the scene this calendar year.
1. Nzingha Prescod, Women’s Fencing, Foilist
The top recruit in the nation, she competed at the World Championships in Paris in November and finished 32nd in the senior foil category.
2. Harry Stephenson, Men’s Swimming, IM/Dist. Fr
The 2008-09 USA Swimming Junior National team member had some strong performances for the Light Blue in 2010 at the Big Al Invite in Princeton, as well as the dual meet against Penn. In September he won the 10k Little Red Lighthouse Swim in New York City in outstanding fashion.
