How to get involved with Spectator

Check out what each section in Spectator has to offer for you.

Like web design? Want to hone your skills while helping develop startups and run the most popular website on campus? Then the online section is the place for you.

The Eye—amanda.cormier@columbiaspectator.com

Donald Trump likes us and So Can You!

But seriously. We're the weekly magazine of the Spectator, and we used to mention last year's nude photoshoot to lure in contributors, but that's lowest common denominator stuff. We're past it.

Last year, we got to (and then under the table, and then over) Four Loko, Bieber, Manhattanville, dubstep, food trucks, Fashion Week, the language requirement, and everything in between.

The Eye's about what's important to us right now—whatever that may be.

Email Amanda, The Eye Editor in Chief, if you're interested in contributing to Columbia's only weekly magazine. We're looking (and always looking!) for writers, designers, developers, photographers, and illustrators.

News—news@columbiaspectator.com

Meetings in PrezBo's rooftop hot tub? Grabbing more than just tea with MiMo? Cracking Al Gore jokes with JSachs? Okay maybe not quite (or at least not yet), but Spec News does get closer than anyone else to Columbia's most important people.

The past semester, our writers interviewed Governor CuomoMichael Bloomberg, and Stephen Colbert, appeared on CNN to discuss the drug bust, chatted with PrezBo about his fraternity days, and uncovered dramatic complaints and upheaval at the Double Discovery Center. What will you do this semester? Dream big with Spec News.

Sports—sports@columbiaspectator.com

If you'd rather write about sports than play them (or do both!), and if you've got enough stamina/enthusiasm to sit through a three-hour football game and then write about it—you, my friend, can be a Sports Journalist.  You can write for one of the nation's top college newspapers.
