Roundup of the past 48 hours

4.0 GPAs, "Sexually provocative images", Facebook, Postcrypt leaving campus, Harrison David looking to transfer, a record-breaking Barnard applicant pool, and an employee found in a BMW trunk. In other words, it's been a newsworthy 48 hours. Here's a cheat sheet of everything that's gone on during that stretch:

In Columbia’s own version of Wikileaks, Spec received a document listing the 482 students from CC and SEAS who received 4.0 GPAs last semester. The document was leaked following an email gaffe, and lists the students’ names, GPAs, UNIs, years, advisors, and majors. Economics has the greatest representation, with 29 of the 482 having 4.0's or greater.

A Barnard TA named Igor Sorkin was arrested and charged with sending sexual pictures to a minor, and is facing up to seven years in prison if convicted. Sorkin sent sexually explicit image and messages to who he believed was 14 year old girl, but in reality was an undercover decective.

Columbia employee Akeem Ajimotokan, 33, was found tied up in the trunk of a BMW in Inwood yesterday by NYPD officials. Suffering injures on his head, Aijimotokan was found after the driver of the BMW rear-ended a yellow cab and fled. He was taken to Harlem Hospital where he is currently in critical but stable condition.
