In an ironic twist of fate, Columbia's computer enthusiasts may become the most socially active people on campus this week, and with exciting results. The Application Development Initiative (ADI), an enterprising group of undergraduate web developers, has announced seven straight days of technological fraternizing in the form of DevFest 2011, an application development competition. From the official ADI announcement:
"DevFest is a collaboration between student groups, VC firms, startups, and Columbia departments to provide aspiring student developers with the necessary support framework to build a complete application over the span of one week as they iterate upon their ideas, experiment with new technologies and concepts, and add value in non-technical ways."
