What happened during January

Nostalgic for January? Relive last month's events.

Jan. 14 Columbia kicked off the year with a wave of wow-za's. 34,587 to be exact as that's how many undergraduate applications the University received---a 32 percent increase from last year.

Jan. 16 Columbia launched its new website. www.columbia.edu

Jan. 16 An uglier-than-usual robbery occurred right in front of McBain, where a student allegedly was slammed to the ground and repeatedly kicked in the face.

Jan. 17 Spectrum picked its next Daily Editors. That's a big deal, right? Right.

Jan. 18 The drug bust hearing occurred this date. There, it was announced that additional charges were added and that the trial would begin Mar. 1.

Jan. 19 Columbia researcher Edward Hall III decided he didn't feel like going through security. So he jumped over the ticket counter (It didn't work).
