Trending: Three up and three down

A quick look around the world of Columbia and Ivy League sports to see who’s hot and who’s not.

Three up:

1. Nicole Bartnik—Bartnik is on the up list for the second straight week, but an undefeated weekend at No. 1 singles against three Ivy foes, including No. 40 Yale and No. 71 Dartmouth, definitely puts her on this list. Bartnik is still undefeated this spring, and is undoubtedly one of the best players in the conference.

2. Women's tennis team in general—Last year, the team got its first Ivy win in forever (2007) in the spring, but something tells me it won't have to wait as long this year. An upset over Cornell and a tight match against Dartmouth give me hope that this is a team that is improving.

3.  Millicent Olawale—The former Columbia quarterback was signed by the Philadelphia Soul, an Arena Football League team, last week. Olawale will be given every chance to earn a spot on the roster for this fall, and it's always good to see a Columbia athlete getting a chance to make it big.
