Sprinting superstar Sharay Hale advances to NCAA final in 400m dash (UPDATED)

UPDATE 7:11 p.m. Sharay Hale started the first heat off strong, until the runner in front of her fell, forcing Hale to come to an almost complete halt to jump over the downed runner. Hale finished in seventh with a time of 54.22 seconds. Despite the tough finish, Hale is only a junior and will still be able to improve on her best ever finish in the NCAAs. The winner was Texas A&M senior Jessica Beard, who finished in stunning fashion (50.79 seconds).

As an outstanding indoor campaign comes to a close, junior sprinter Sharay Hale will have a chance to compete in one more race after her stellar performance in the 400m dash on Friday.

This will not be just any race, however. This weekend, Hale has traveled to Texas A&M to take part in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships and has advanced to the NCAA National Championship Finals in the event.
