The facts: The Barnard housing process is generally wonderful, which might be one of the reasons Barnard students pick into suites in the 600s so blindly, never quite knowing exactly what they're getting. Has it been painted recently? Is the common area big? Is there enough furniture to have a friend over for dinner? Who knows. The 600s, consisting of 600, 616, and 620 West 116 St., is the best Barnard has to offer north of 111th, and there is really no beating the location as far as Nard housing goes.
The possibilities: As the numbers go up, the number of doubles go down. In 600, the possible suites are one double (with a bathroom and kitchen), an all-double four-person and six-person, and a one-single seven-person suite.
In 616, there are four-, five-, and six-person suites, all with one double, and six-person suites with two doubles.
In 620, we have some five-person suites with one double, six- and seven-person suites with two doubles, and the holy grail of Barnard senior housing, the all-single five- and six-person suites.
