I have sympathy for the cacophony of anxieties inherent in the Columbia-Barnard housing lotteries. But in looking to any of the various sites of turmoil and upheaval across the globe, both social and geophysical, from the disasters in Japan to the warfare of Coo Coo-Qaddafi, perhaps we will gain some perspective.
