Back in DC, I was driving by Georgetown Cupcake, the city's premier "cupcakery," and subject of a TV show on TLC. The cupcake fad is a topic on its own, but what was most remarkable was the line around the block, numbering at least 80 people. This is basically a constant at the store.
I don't consider myself an impatient person, but I am somewhat pragmatic. It baffled me that anyone would spend an hour in line to taste even a good cupcake. Which leads me to wonder, what makes the wait worthwhile? Are there any rules of thumb that can help the pragmatic (impatient) like me?
