We're definitely not in Kansas anymore. Tonight in Lerner, two strong, beautiful (and white) Barnard women, Liz Watson and Colette McIntyre, both BC '12, will star in their own rewritten version of The Wiz (no, nothing to do with this). The Wiz is a Broadway staged retelling of The Wizard of Oz in the context of African American culture, which was later made into a feature film starring Diana Ross and a very young Michael Jackson. The Barnard women condensed The Wiz into their own 60-minute show, "Operation: Ease on Down the Road." Performances will be held in the Austin E. Quigley Black Box Theatre in Lerner tonight and tomorrow at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., free of charge. Reserve tickets online here. Also be sure to read the full story in print. Promo video with improvised songs by Watson and McIntyre after the jump.
