Barnard to screen documentary on sexual assault tomorrow night

Sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and abuse…maybe not topics you were expecting to pop up on 4/20. But these issues will take center stage tomorrow night in a screening of the 2008 documentary “Very Young Girls.” As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), the event is co-sponsored by Barnard and Columbia Health’s Sexual Violence Response program. The documentary tells the painful stories of girls–--some as young as 12 and 13-years-old-–-who are forced into prostitution on the streets of New York City.
