We have received confirmation that Margot Lazow, a biochemistry major and a former Spec copy staffer, will be this year's CC valedictorian. Elizabeth Lyon, concurrently enrolled in the Juilliard School, will be salutatorian. Congratulations!
Margot Lazow, who will attend med school after graduation, took the time to answer a few questions.
1) When did you first find out you were named valedictorian?
I found out a little over two weeks ago. The news came as a giant surprise! I was literally shaking for hours, and could not concentrate. I think anyone who saw me immediately after I heard would have thought I was sick. I tried to tell my close friends, but I had a very difficult time saying the words out loud because I was still in disbelief. I am just so extremely honored to have been chosen! I met Lizzy [the salutatorian] for the first time a few days after receiving the news, and I'm really excited to share this honor with her!
