This year's SEAS Valedictorian and Salutatorian will be Norases Vesdapunt and Michael Wang, respectively. Congratulations to both! We held an interview with Norases and these are the replies he provided.
1) How do you pronounce your name?
Nor-ra-ses Ves-da-pun. But it doesn’t matter. Many of my friends don’t even know my Thai name. I go by my nickname: Saint.
2) Talk about your experiences with Housing.
I was on John Jay 12 (Margot was also on John Jay 12!) and I had a wonderful first year here at Columbia. Despite Carman being known as the social dorm, kids in John Jay were so enthusiastic about making friends and hanging out together in the lounge. And during the winter I could go to the dining hall in shorts! I got really lucky every year with my lottery number. My sophomore and junior years I lived in Broadway, which was great. I enjoyed cooking with my floormates there. My only complaint is that the kitchen sinks are really tiny.
