We're at the 'The Day After Tomorrow' stage now (UPDATED: Fallen tree getting cut up)

Hurricane Irene has left Columbia. Here's a roundup of what's going on in the aftermath. Keep checking for updates.

Stores reopening (UPDATED: 4:06 p.m.):
Along Amsterdam Columbia Cottage, Hungarian, and V&T are open. The other 80 percent or so stores are closed. Morton Williams opened at 2 p.m., both Book Culture stores are open, Milano is open, and Rite Aid is open. Westside opened at 6 a.m. but they're letting their customers in one by one to keep crowds down. Fruit stands are still empty and an employee there said that yesterday was the first time they had ever closed. LASTLY, Tom's Diner, is so crowded that, as of noon, there were 13 people waiting outside for tables and a waiting list.

Nussbaum, which was closed earlier today, has reopened. Il Cibreo, M2M, Tea Magic, Pinkberry, and Koronet's are also open.

Stores staying closed:
Joe's is closed (OH NO!), Starbucks is closed (oh no!), Oren's is closed (oh no!), and Nussbaum is closed (meh). Vareli and Duane Reade will also be closed all day.

Riverside Park, flooded. No jogs today.

Morningside Park, 119th.

"She's helping with the storm cleanup." Aww.
