Storylines to watch out for this semester

With one more day left of  carefree summer, we at Spectrum bring you a list of developing news stories to watch this semester, when we all have to be serious again.

1) First, and probably the most important story that we'll be following this year, is the resignation of Michele Moody-Adams as Dean of Columbia College in late August. With the recent appointment of interim Dean James Valentini, the administrative restructuring MiMoo cited in her resignation letter have could possibly come at the expense of the College as the Faculty of Arts and Sciences grows more powerful. See Spectrum's breaking news coverage of the story here, and an excellent in-depth piece by News Editor Sarah Darville here.

2) The beginning of the end of the Columbia Five. With Harrison David starting his 3.5 month sentence in Rikers this week, the rest of the students charged in last winter's drug bust are yet to be sentenced. Here's Spectrum's coverage of the drug bust for those of you new to campus.
