Every fall it seems that Spec becomes all about the first-years. I mean, I get it—they're eager, nervous, pretentious and in bad need of some sort of redheaded demi-god (that would be me, first-years) to guide them through these first collegiate months, but at some point the baby birds have to learn to fly without momma bird providing daily instructive blog posts. And besides, redheaded demi-gods are usually pretty eager, nervous, and pretentious themselves, not to mention totally unqualified for the role of momma bird, anyway.
So, instead of adding to the list of recommendations for first-years, I thought I'd write a post on the feeling that's been gripping me most these first few days: It's good to be a senior. And because such an obvious thought isn't really deserving of the noble form of the paragraph, here's a list of my top five reasons it's better to be a senior than a freshman.
