Controversial Haitian president at Miller today (UPDATE: Woah, he never showed up)

Updated: Martelly never showed up. Jeffrey Sachs took questions about Haiti for about an hour of the session. Eventually, about an hour later (when almost everyone had left) his foreign minister as well as Wycleaf Jean and Daniel Supplice appeared as Martelly's replacement.

As part of the World Leaders Forum Michel “Sweet Mickey” Joseph Martelly, musician turned President of the Republic of Haiti will be giving a speech at Columbia later today from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Miller Theater. Inaugurated only earlier this year after an election many consider undemocratic for reasons including the exclusion of the country's largest political party, Martelly will speak on “Moving Beyond Crisis Recovery towards Lasting Development.”
