Leaves aren't the only things flying through the air

Good news first: Fall is here! The weeks of humid weather seemed like grounds for double-checking our plane tickets for spelling mistakes, (were we at Columbia or in Colombia?) but October has finally arrived with a blast of cold air. Pumpkin-spice-latte, dressing-in-layers, no-longer-wish-you-had-air-conditioning season is upon us.

But what's that I smell? Why, it must be the sweet perfume of cough drops wafting through the air! And that's the bad news: It's sore-throat season. Advil-vs.-Tylenol season. Headache, bless-you, it's-a-good-thing-Kleenex-is-cheap season. You'd-better-watch-out season, because those aren't just leaves flying through the air. They're germs.
